JACOBABAD: The authorities have taken notice of the report aired by ARY News and suspended the accused Sindh Food Authority’s supervisor for mixing sand in the government procured wheat in Jacobabad.
The sessions court in Jacobabad summoned the district food controller for allegedly mixing sand in the government procured wheat. Yesterday, ARY News aired a report regarding the mixing of sand in wheat stocks under the supervision of the district food controller Jacobabad.
A team of the Sindh Food Authority raided a go-down in Jacobabad where it caught food supervisor Ghulam Mustafa while mixing sand in the wheat.
According to the report, the officials confirmed the presence of sand in the wheat stocks, whereas, video evidence was also collected. The food supervisor Ghulam Mustafa has been suspended by the higher authorities.
The local court of Jacobabad also took action on the ARY News report and summoned the district food controller on May 29.
DG SFA Syed Imdad Shah told ARY News that the deputy director food Larkana has been appointed as the inquiry officer in the case and further action will be taken against the accused food supervisor after the probe report.
